Shudhangshu (Rocky) Kundu joined Dr. Leon Kochian’s research team in January 2020 as an Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) research scientist support specialist. He is also an M.Sc. graduate in plant science (lentil breeding) at the University of Saskatchewan, sponsored by NSERC and SPG Canada.

Rocky was awarded a Government of India scholarship for M.Sc. in Molecular Biology at Bangalore University. He has acquired years of working experience with flame atomic absorption spectrometry, high performance liquid chromatography, ion chromatography and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. He received formal training for the establishment of high through-put inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry laboratory from Thermo Fisher Scientific.

Here at GIFS, Rocky provides high throughput elemental analysis that helps the researchers and breeders to develop quality crop varieties for the global food security. He enjoys every opportunity in agricultural research, provides technical expertise in designing scientific experiments and data interpretation.
