Peta-Gaye Burnett

Platform Leader, Omics and Precision Agriculture Laboratory (OPAL) - Currently On Leave

Peta-Gaye Burnett is the Platform Lead of the Omics and Precision Agriculture Laboratory (OPAL), and is leading the establishment of OPAL at both the technical and business development level.  She received her B.A. (Highest Hons) in Chemistry from Williams College and her M.Sc. in Soil Science from the University of Saskatchewan (USask) in 2003 and 2006, respectively.  Pete has significant laboratory, research and development, and project management skills from previous positions at USask (2009-16), the National Research Council and Saponin Inc.  Prior to joining GIFS, she worked at Genome Prairie (2016-19) in the capacity as the Business Development Officer where she was responsible for facilitating the development of projects (within academia, government and industry) aligned with Genome Canada funding opportunities.
