Zahida Sultana Irin

Greenhouse Technician, Seed and Developmental Biology

Zahida was born and raised in the capital city Dhaka of Bangladesh, a small country in South Asia. She received her Bachelor of Science as well a Master of Science in Statistics from Jahangirnagar University, Dhaka, and started her career as a faculty member at the Uttara University in 2013 where she worked for 2.5 years. She joined Notre Dame University, Bangladesh on 2015. Zahida’s interest in further research and professional need brought her to the University of Saskatchewan to further her studies.   

Zahida is currently working on a Master’s program in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. At GIFS, she works as a Research Technician under the supervision of Dr. Marco Pellino in the Seed and Developmental Biology research area led by Dr. Tim Shabel.

Besides her own research area, she is interested to explore new areas to enhance her knowledge where she can explore new things and apply previous learnings as well.
