Saskatchewan native Maureen “Mo”, is currently working on obtaining her Masters in Science at the U of S under the supervision of Dr. Sharbel in Seed and Developmental Biology. Mo received a BSA with distinction from the University of Saskatchewan in 2016 with a major of Agricultural Biology and a minor in Field Crop Production.

During her MSc studies, she has worked in collaboration with the Leibniz Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Research (IPK) in Germany and recently spent five months in Germany conducting part of her thesis research on German chamomile. Being born and raised in Saskatoon, Mo felt the experience of living in a different continent and seeing how agriculture research and life in general is different in another part of the world was amazing.

Outside of work Mo enjoys spending time with friends and family, as well as staying active, especially playing volleyball.
