Born and raised in Saskatchewan, Anne was raised on a grain and cattle farm in northwest area of the province. Anne received a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (Crop Science) from the University of Saskatchewan. It was her interest in crop development led her to focus on the research areas of biotechnology, plant breeding and plant pathology.  

Anne is currently working on a Masters of Science in Plant Science at the U of S, in collaboration with GIFS under the supervision of Dr. Sharbel and Joanne Ernest, working on the gene APOLLO.

As a teenager, Anne was a competitive figure skater, a sport she continues to enjoy today. She also enjoys biking on the Meewasin trail along the South Saskatchewan River in the summertime.
