Seminar: James Colliander, How can mathematical sciences help advance agriculture, the agri-food sector, and improve global food security?

The Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences (PIMS) interconnects mathematicians, computer scientists, and statisticians from ten research universities. The first half of this seminar will provide an overview of PIMS and highlight potential alignments with the mission of GIFS.  The second half will consist of a conversation with the goal of forging collaborative research projects and startup creation. Participants are encouraged to bring their laptops to participate in an interactive demonstration of a scientific computer and data science platform deployed by PIMS in collaboration with Compute Canada and Cybera.
